Brief description and aims of work

The University of Witten/Herdecke (UWH) emphasizes research on dementia care in different domains. The Clinical Nursing Research working group involved in the RightTimePlaceCare project has conducted several dementia-related primary studies and systematic reviews during recent years. Prevention of falls and fall-related injuries in frail elderly, frequency and reduction of physical restraints and psychosocial interventions instead of antipsychotics in nursing home residents or meaningful activities in people with dementia are some of the most important topics. Others are evidence-based guideline development and implementation and development of complex nursing interventions.
